Summary

As the latest numbered entry in the SAMURAI WARRIORS franchise, the story, characters, and visuals have been re-imagined to set the stage for a thrilling new series. The story takes place after the Ōnin War during the golden age of the Sengoku period, and features a story that centers on the lives of two of the most representative military commanders of this era: Nobunaga Oda and Mitsuhide Akechi.

Storyline

A fresh reimagining of Japan's turbulent Sengoku period, this tale narrows its focus to two of the era's most compelling figures and the bond between them. On one side stands Nobunaga Oda, a bold and charismatic young lord who rises from an underestimated underdog into an ambitious warlord determined to unify a war-torn nation by any means necessary. On the other is Mitsuhide Akechi, an honorable and principled samurai whose loyalty, friendships, and sense of duty are tested again and again as he serves at Nobunaga's side. Told across both men's perspectives, the story traces their intertwined paths through shifting alliances, fierce battles, and the collapse of the old Ashikaga Shogunate. Amid the chaos, a mysterious figure stirs rebellion across the land, and a young kunoichi named Mitsuki seeks the truth about her own origins. As ambition and honor pull the two heroes in different directions, the age of warring states marches on.
