Minecraft: Gear VR Edition was the former title of the version of Bedrock Edition designed for virtual reality on certain Samsung Galaxy devices through the Samsung Gear VR headset. It was released on April 27, 2016. Although Pocket Edition on the Samsung Galaxy Apps store was discontinued later on, Gear VR Edition was never made free to owners of Pocket Edition on that platform.
